Dental Bonding
Minor cosmetic flaws, such as small cracks, chips, or unsightly gaps between two teeth, can be corrected through dental bonding. This restorative and cosmetic procedure requires zero downtime and is simple, quick, and non-invasive. The dental bonding procedure involves the application of a malleable dental resin directly to the tooth. This resin, or bonding material, is applied over the area being treated (after it’s been properly cleaned) and is shaped and molded in the desired shape. It is then cured, or hardened, with a special dental lamp, to secure it in place and provide for the appropriate consistency. Once in place, the bonding material is polished so that it blends in seamlessly with the surrounding teeth.

Dental Crowns
A dental crown is a prosthetic that is employed to treat highly decayed, damaged, or malformed teeth. Shaped like a tooth, a dental crown is sometimes referred to as a cap, as it encapsulates the tooth being treated. Once excess or decayed portions of the affected tooth have been removed to provide space for the restoration and ensure a sound underlying structure, the dental crown is placed over top of the tooth. The prosthetic is then secured in place with dental cement. Because the crown looks and functions as a natural tooth would, it is able to restore both the appearance and oral health of a decayed or compromised smile. One of the secondary benefits of a dental crown is that it allows for the preservation of at least some of the tooth’s natural structure, as placing a dental crown over a damaged tooth prevents the need for extraction.

Dental Bridges
A dental bridge is so named because it is designed to bridge gaps in the jaw. If you are missing a tooth, seeking prompt treatment is very important. In the absence of a tooth, surrounding teeth will slowly begin to shift out of place to fill the void, resulting in malocclusion, which can cause discomfort, speech impediments, and TMJ disorder. Placing a bridge to fill the gap helps to prevent these symptoms from occurring. A dental bridge consists of an artificial tooth known as a pontic and two anchoring dental crowns. Typically, a crown exists on either side of the pontic; these prosthetics are placed over the teeth on both sides of the gap to secure the bridge in place. To ensure that no bacteria build up between the pontic and the gum tissue, the false tooth is usually secured in place to the gum with dental cement. A dental bridge provides an effective means of treating a missing tooth, non-surgically.

Dental Fillings
Cavities and other minor dental complications can be treated through the application of fillings. At The ADA Dental  for Cosmetic Dentistry, we utilise tooth-coloured fillings or white fillings exclusively. Traditional silver amalgam fillings are not only unsightly, but they also can wreak havoc on the structure of a tooth over time, as silver amalgam expands and contracts (due to temperature fluctuation) at a different rate than does tooth material. This places stress on the tooth, which can eventually weaken it. Dental bonding material actually bonds to the tooth, and emulates the natural properties of enamel. This provides for a far superior alternative, both cosmetically and structurally.

Inlays and Onlays
Decay or other damage to the upper portion of the tooth may be treated with an inlay or onlay. Dr Pinar Senyilmaz  at ADA Dental  can evaluate the condition of your tooth and determine the best treatment option. Inlays and onlays are dental prosthetics that are designed to cap only the upper-most portion of the tooth. Like dental crowns, they are fabricated from porcelain for durability, strength, and cosmetics. The prosthetic is then placed onto the affected tooth (inlays and onlays are used to treat rear teeth with cusps) and secured in place with dental cement. In addition to treating mild decay or damage on the top portions of rear teeth, inlays and onlays are also an effective replacement option for metal fillings.

Endodontics
If the pulp tissue (which contains blood vessels, connective tissue, and nerve endings) in the root chamber beneath a tooth becomes infected, it can result in severe and constant pain. In such cases, endodontic therapy, or root canal treatment as it’s more commonly known, is necessary to alleviate these symptoms and prevent the risk of further infection. Treating a root canal infection is important not only because the condition can cause debilitating pain, but because, if left untreated, root canal infections can result in abscesses and eventually tooth loss. During root canal therapy, the gum tissue is first anesthetised to ensure the patient’s comfort. A small pilot hole is then drilled through the top of the tooth to provide access to the root chamber. The infected tissue is then removed, the chamber filled with inert dental putty, and the tooth is sealed. Contrary to popular belief, this procedure is entirely pain-free.

Dentures
If you are missing most or all of your teeth. Dr Pinar Senyilmaz from our Kusadasi centre can discuss dentures with you in detail. Modern dentures look, feel, and function just as your natural teeth do. They can have a transformative impact on a person’s quality of life, as dentures make it possible to once more enjoy the foods that you love, participate in social activities and engagements, and feel confident and comfortable in your own skin.

Non-surgical Periodontal Treatment
The health of the gums is extremely important, as they provide a foundation for the teeth. If the gums are decayed or compromised, and left untreated, tooth decay and tooth loss can result. At The ADA Dental for Cosmetic Dentistry, we are able to provide our patients with brilliant results, non-surgically. Our laser-free periodontal treatment can help restore the health and strength of the gums while allowing our patients to enjoy minimal downtime post-treatment.
